Frequently asked questions

Short honest answers about tracking your manga collection, TV shows, and movies.

Manga collection

What's the best app to track a physical manga collection?

I'm biased, so here's the honest version. If you want a free tracker with unlimited volumes that also handles TV and movies, use Konsumr. It tracks the volumes you own by edition, shows what's missing from every series, and puts upcoming releases on a calendar.

How do I keep track of which manga volumes I own?

Add a series, pick your edition, and check off volumes. Ownership is separate from reading progress, so a volume can be owned, read, or ordered. The missing volumes list shows every gap in your collection, with release dates so you know if a volume is even out yet.

Does Konsumr track Deluxe, Omnibus, and Box Set editions separately?

Yes. Editions are the core of how Konsumr works. Each edition has its own volumes, covers, ISBNs, and release dates. If you own a series in two editions, you track both.

Does Konsumr support releases in my language?

Konsumr currently supports English physical releases only. If your shelf is mostly non-English releases, it won't cover them yet.

Tracking

Is Konsumr free?

Yes. Unlimited tracking, no ads, no premium tier. Konsumr is free to use, and that's not going to change.

Can I track TV shows and movies too?

Yes. Episode-by-episode TV tracking with season progress, a movie watchlist, thumbs up or down ratings, and a calendar for upcoming episodes and releases. Manga, TV, and movies in one app.

How is Konsumr different from MyAnimeList and AniList?

They track the chapters you've read. Konsumr tracks the physical volumes you own, by edition. If your manga lives on a shelf, chapter counts can't tell you what's missing. You can also sync your AniList manga library into Konsumr or import your MyAnimeList export, so you don't have to choose.

Apps and data

Is there a Konsumr mobile app?

Yes, a native iOS app with Home Screen widgets and notifications when something you track comes out. An Android app is coming soon. The web app works everywhere.

Can I import my existing library?

Yes. AniList sync for manga, plus imports for TV Time, MyAnimeList, Trakt, Letterboxd, Simkl, and IMDb exports. Tracking your collection in a spreadsheet? Happy to help you import it, no pressure to switch. You can export your full library as JSON any time.

Is my collection public?

No. Profiles are private by default. If you want a shareable profile and collection page, flip your profile to public. Otherwise your profile, library, and collection stay private. Lists are the one exception: they're public by default so you can share them, and you can make any list private.
